What is joint mobilization?

Joint mobilization is a hands-on therapy where the physical therapist uses their hands to apply force to move a joint. Typically done at a slow speed, joint mobilizations help return the affected joint to normal movement faster if addressed early on in your treatment plan.

What are the benefits?

Initially in treatment, joint mobilizations help to control pain caused by damage or injury. Throughout treatment, joint mobilizations improve joint mobility, decrease muscle spasms and tension and increase range of motion in the affected joint.
